Today after breakfast drive to Bharatpur en route visit Fatehpur Sikri, which was once the capital of the Mughal empire between 1571 & 1585, during the region of Emperor Akbar. This city was erected in an area that was plagued by water shortages & it was abandoned shortly after Akbar’s death because of this. Arrive Bharatpur & check in to Hotel. Today take an excursion to Ajanta, which is famous for rock cut halls & monasteries. The 29 caves are cut into the steep face of a horseshoe – shaped rock gorge on the Waghore River. They are sequentially numbered from one end of the defile to the other, but do not follow a chronological order; the oldest are mainly in the middle and the newer ones are close to each end. Five of the caves are chityas while the other 25 are viharas. Caves 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 are older early Buddhist caves, while the others are Mahayana. Later back to Aurangabad. Overnight at Hotel
