Textile Tour of Gujarat

Day 01 -
Arrive Ahmedabad
Arrive Ahmedabad airport, meet & greet with our representative who will assist & give you briefing about your tour & transfer to Hotel. This place is a most important centre of modern & traditional textiles. Lots of crafts flourish here such as Block Printings & descriptive paintings of cloth name Mata-Ni-Pachedi. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 -
Ahmedabad

Calico MuseumMorning after breakfast visit “Calico Museum” which is a most important textile collection museum of ‘India’. This museum has collection of Indian origin textile-swatches, which also found at well known archaeological site of Egypt, the Silk-Sarees from all through India, Double Ikat Silk-sarongs made at Patan particularly for the Indonesia Market, Chintz & Curtains finished during the region of Portuguese, Dutch and British in Gujarat, Floral needlework of Punjab, Shawls of Kashmir, Work of Tie & Dye of eighteen century, magnificently embroidered-tent of Emperor-Shah Jahan, famous paintings, attires & manuscripts on the cloth of  Rajasthan, religious explanation with the pictures on the cloths name Pichwai & Kalamkari. Afterwards visit other museums of Ahmedabad for folk-art-collection. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 -
Ahmedabad – Dasada (Approx 90 Kms)

VaranasiToday after breakfast drive to Dasada from Ahmedabad. Dasada is a home of Asiatic wild ass. Upon arrival, check in at Hotel. Afterwards see a place to view Rabari woman who is working on different embroideries. Later in the evening take safari in the Little Rann of Kutch. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 -

Dasada – Patan – Modhera – Dasada

Double IkatAfter breakfast take one more safari to see the rich wildlife of little Rann of Kutch. Later take same day return trip to Patan, to view the Salvis at work on Patola which is consider as the most finest textiles of silk. After that also see the woven using the technique of Double-Ikat. On the way visit sun temple of eleventh century at Modhera. This temple is one of the most admirable example of western India of Hindus architecture. Later back to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05 -
Dasada – Wadhwan (Approx 73 Kms)

WadhwanToday drive to Wadhwan from Dasada. Wadhwan is a small walled town known for the work of tie-&-die of Bhandhani, weaving, metalcrafts etc.  Overnight at Hotel Rajmahal.

Day 06 -
Wadhwan – Mandvi (Approx 310 Kms)

MandviIn the morning leave for Mandvi from Wadhwan. Mandvi is a major centre of tie & die work. Arrive Mandvi, check in at Hotel. Later sightseeing of Mandvi to visit the  yard of dhow-building to see the ocean boats which are built by hand. Overnight at Hotel.
 

Day 07 -

Mandvi

MandviToday full day visit villages around Mandvi which are famous for the scenic houses name Bhungas embroidery & Rabari.Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08 -

Mandvi – Bhuj (Approx 60 Kms)

Bhuj Tribal DressMorning after breakfast drive to Bhuj. Upon arrival, check in to Hotel. Day is free to enjoy the surroundings of Bhuj. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 09 -
Bhuj

Handiwork & embroideryToday visit some villages nearby Bhuj which are famous for different styles of handiwork & embroidery such as rogan & block painting & weaving. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 10
Bhuj – Gondal (Approx 259 Kms)

GondalIn the morning after breakfast depart for Gondal from Bhuj en route visit waston museum of Rajkot which has a finest example of craftsmanship skill & Rashtriya Shala. Arrive Gondal, Check in at Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 11
Gondal – Jetpur – Junagadh – Gondal (Total 150 Kms)

Gujarat Textile TourToday take same day return trip of Jetpur, which is well know for its workshops of screen & block printings & this is also a centre of yarn-dyeing. After that visit Junagadh to watch the carpets of – gem encrusted at the museum the Nawab’s tapestery & wardrobes. Also visit Junagadh which has third century {BC} ruins of Buddhist, complex mausoleum, medieval-forts & Palaces. Later back to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12
Gondal – Ahmedabad (Approx 251 Kms)

Gujarat Textile TourMorning visit Naulakha palace (1748 AD) which contains the personal collections of former royal family such as brassware,textiles, beadwork, toys which are hand painted, crafts made by silver & gondal historical buildings & Khadi Plaza , a unit of Gujarat Handloom weaving. Later transfer to Ahmedabad. Upon arrival, check in to hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13
Ahmedabad (Departure)

Today transfer to Ahmedabad airport to board flight for onwards destination.
